Jun 23, 2019

In the sanatorium "Khmilnyk" are treated mainly with diseases of the musculoskeletal system
(about 80%), of which more than 60% are patients with osteochondrosis of the spine and with intervertebral hernias.
Osteochondrosis of the spinal column is degenerative-dystrophic damage to the intervertebral discs. The process begins most often in the pulp nucleus and gradually changes to the elements of the disk, and in the future the whole segment (bodies of adjacent vertebrae, intervertebral joints and ligament apparatus) is struck.
For osteochondrosis characteristic chronic course with alternation of periods of exacerbation and remission. In the acute period of illness patients are sent to the hospital, with the restoration of the process, it is recommended restorative treatment with radon baths.
In the Trade Union sanatorium Khmilnyk, the most effective method of treating patients with spinal osteochondrosis is the underwater extraction in the pool with mineral radon water.
According to numerous data and long-term clinical observations, underwater extraction increases the intervertebral space, discharges the affected disk, provides gradual adjustment of the hernia, eliminates the subluxation of the intervertebral joints, promotes decompression of the nervous structures, improves blood circulation, reduces swelling and reactive phenomena in the tissues and loads on the spinal axis.
The experience of treating patients with osteochondrosis and, as a consequence, intervertebral hernias accumulated by the specialists of our health resort, suggests that underwater extraction in the basin with radon mineral water in combination with other resort factors gives a pronounced and lasting therapeutic effect.
